Preparation: Dirt, oil, and loose detritus are removed for cleaning. The bar is tested for testing against original specification for polishing.
Polishing: The bar is passed through a belt-polishing machine. Rotating, high-speed belts of abrasive materials like aluminium oxide or silicon carbide polish the bar. Successively finer grit sizes in higher order from coarse to fine are used based on the finish desired
Final Touches: The bar is cleaned or polished following the polishing operation to finish off the last bit of trash. The bar can be coated with a protective paint (e.g., oil or anti-corrosive spray) in a bid to seal the finish.
